Bulletproof is a video game for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox platforms. 50 Cent was asked to voice the protagonist, Carl "CJ" Johnson, of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but he refused, stating that he will only voice himself in video games. As a result, 50 Cent: Bulletproof was produced. The game was reworked into a PlayStation Portable version and titled 50 Cent: Bulletproof G Unit Edition, with a top-down perspective. A sequel, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, was released on February 24, 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox platforms.
The titular protagonist is hip hop musician 50 Cent playing himself. The story revolves around 50 Cent s search for vengeance, to hunt down the hitmen that attempted to murder him. The game also features members of the G-Unit rap crew, as 50 s gang. Dr. Dre plays an arms dealer, Eminem plays a corrupt police officer, and DJ Whoo Kid plays as himself as a person selling "bootlegged" music (of the G-Unit camp) out of his trunk. There is also a video game soundtrack album available titled, Bulletproof, which was released by DJ Red Heat s Shadyville Entertainment. It also won "Best Original Song" in the 2005 Spike TV Video Game Awards. A sequel, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, was released.
One night, 50 Cent is paged by an old friend and cellmate, K-Dog, who says he’s in trouble. 50 joins with members of G-Unit: Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and Tony Yayo to find K-Dog. Upon arriving, 50 and G-Unit discover K-Dog being tortured by a criminal named Von Skyes. After a gun battle, 50 and his gang defeat Von Skyes’ men, ultimately killing the gang leader for torturing K-Dog. 50 escapes the area but is shot nine times in the back by an unknown gunman.
50 awakens three days later in an apartment owned by Doc Friday, who patches up his wounds and gives him painkillers to help ease the pain. 50 then meets Bugs, a pawnshop owner. Bugs also helps 50 train to find the people that shot him. 50 also finds an ally in Detective McVicar, who helps him investigate the recent disappearance of K-Dog at a safe house. Bugs provides 50 with equipment and, after fighting his way into the safehouse, finds K-Dog’s dead body.
While looking over the scene for clues, a group of armed thugs attempts to kill 50, who escapes. Back at Bugs’, 50 looks over the clues he got from K-Dog’s body. He’s lead to a junkyard where a gang of bikers hold him at gun point. He manages to get away and destroys a number of taxis before confronting Spider, the gang’s leader. Spider’s men try to kill 50 but he successfully defends himself.
Inside his warehouse, Spider sets up his meth lab operation. 50 and Spider get into a shootout and he wounds Spider. Spider tries to escape and 50 shoots him, leaving him wounded. He escapes from the burning warehouse and checks out a notebook saying, " 3812501." He is then interrupted by an injured and armed Spider who holds 50 at gunpoint. He s about to shoot him but fails, and dies of his injuries. 50 then cuts off his tattoo. Back at Bugs , he identifies the tattoo of a Chinese drug lord named Wu Jang.
